The Reset Living Story

Hello! I'm Nicole Martel, the heart and hands behind Rest Living, a home organizing and life-style refresh service based in Northern Ontario.

Creating calm, functional, and beautiful spaces has always come naturally to me. I’ve learned that when your home feels balanced, life does too. Over the years, what began as a simple love for decorating, antiquing, and creating “pretty spaces” grew into something much deeper ~ a passion for helping others find peace, clarity, and a fresh start through their surroundings.

My mom inspired much of this. She had a gift for making everything look and feel just right...fresh flowers on the table, the smell of lemon polish in the air, and her favourite saying: “You never know who might stop by!” (which, by the way, was usually followed by my sister and I getting handed a dust cloth at 7 a.m. on a Saturday!). Looking back, I realize she was really teaching me the life-changing magic of tidying up. By caring for your space, you nurture your spirit, and that a calm home creates a calm heart.

My path led me to study at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) in Toronto, where I discovered how deeply our environment influences our well-being. Later, I studied Interior Decorating in London, Ontario, and I'm now enrolled at Humber College, studying Real Estate. I have worked with reputable RE/MAX and Royal LePage brokerages ~ continuing to learn how people connect with their homes from the foundation to the final touch, helping clients create new beginnings. 

From my dad, I inherited a love for nature, exploration, and the quiet beauty of small towns. He taught me that life’s rhythm often hides in the simple moments ~ a drive through the countryside, morning fishing on the lake, or a perfectly organized junk drawer (definitely possible). Those lessons shaped my belief that beauty exists both inside and outside, and that sometimes, a little order and intention can open big doors.

Now, through Reset Living, I get to blend all of these life experiences, creativity, compassion, holistic living, and a touch of humour ~ to help people transform their spaces and their lives. To me, a tidy home is a dialogue with yourself ~ a chance to honour the past, embrace the present, and welcome the future.  Whether it’s a full-home reset, a moving transition, a staging project, or a simple seasonal refresh, I approach every space with care, energy, and heart. Based in Elliot Lake, I (we) proudly serve communities across Northern Ontario ~ from Greater Sudbury to North Bay and beyond. 

Life has taught me that even in tough times, there’s always a way to turn something negative into something positive, and that pressing the reset button isn’t just about your space, it’s about your spirit too.
